Creatures of Sonaria Types: All 5 Compared by Stats
Updated 2026-09-08 · Last verified 2026-09-08 · Roblox Creatures of Sonaria
Creatures of Sonaria sorts every creature into one of five movement types: Terrestrial (220), Flier (140), Semi-Aquatic (69), Aquatic (28) and Glider (24). A sixth value sits on top of those, the mobilityOverride field, which reads All-Terrain on exactly 15 creatures and on nothing else.
Every count and median on this page is computed from the game's own creature stat table, the 4 September 2026 revision, covering all 481 released creatures across 51 fields with no missing values. Where a figure was calculated for this page rather than lifted from a published ranking, it says so.
The five types at a glance
| Type | Creatures | Share | Tier 5s | Tier 1s |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Terrestrial | 220 | 45.7% | 54 | 16 |
| Flier | 140 | 29.1% | 23 | 13 |
| Semi-Aquatic | 69 | 14.3% | 13 | 14 |
| Aquatic | 28 | 5.8% | 7 | 2 |
| Glider | 24 | 5.0% | 3 | 5 |
The type counts come from the stat table's distribution. The Tier columns were computed for this page by crossing type with tier in the same 4 September 2026 revision, and they sum correctly to the game's 100 Tier 5 and 50 Tier 1 creatures.
Two things fall out immediately. Terrestrial is not just the largest group, it holds over half the Enormous creatures in the game. And the two smallest types are close: Glider is the rarest movement type at 24 members, just ahead of Aquatic's 28, which matters later because that second-smallest group dominates the speed rankings.
What each type actually governs
A creature's type is not decoration. It decides which of the 51 fields are populated at all, and which read N/A. Counting field presence by type is the clearest way to see what the label means.
| Field | Terrestrial | Flier | Glider | Semi-Aquatic | Aquatic |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
flySpeed | 0 | 140 | 24 | 7 | 3 |
oxygenTime | 220 | 120 | 24 | 30 | 3 |
moistureTime | 0 | 15 | 0 | 34 | 28 |
jumpPower | 124 | 0 | 0 | 31 | 0 |
dartPower | 0 | 31 | 0 | 65 | 28 |
beachSpeed | 0 | 9 | 0 | 0 | 28 |
ambush | 103 | 35 | 4 | 29 | 14 |
Field-presence counts computed for this page from the 4 September 2026 stat table.
Read it column by column. Terrestrials never fly and never dart, but they are the only group where jumping is near-universal. Gliders are the most rigidly defined type in the game: all 24 fly, all 24 breathe air, none of them carry a moisture timer, a jump value, a dart value or a beach speed. Aquatics are the mirror image, with a beach speed on all 28 and a dart value on all 28.
The interesting rows are the ones that leak. Ten creatures carry flight fields while sitting outside the Flier and Glider labels: the Aquatics Glovaucus, Squitico and Zhelijin, and the Semi-Aquatics Corsarlett, Exotide, Gobli, Gryvila, Oxysenix, Zohdok and Zwevealisk. That brings the total number of creatures with a flying stat to 174, which is 36 per cent of the roster and considerably more than the 164 you get by adding Fliers and Gliders. See flight for the full breakdown of that group and aquatic for the water side.
The 15 All-Terrain creatures
mobilityOverride is the only field in the table that changes how a creature's type is presented. It is blank on 466 creatures and reads All-Terrain on 15. There is no second override value anywhere in the data.
The distinctive part is not the count, it is the composition: all 15 carry Flier in their type field. All-Terrain is, in the data as published, a Flier variant and nothing else. Anyone filtering the roster on type alone will never see this group, which is exactly the mistake to avoid when comparing creatures.
| Creature | Tier | Diet | Type field | Sprint | Fly | Class |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Euvias | 1 | Carnivore | Flier | 127 | 51 | Regular |
| Flixlit | 1 | Herbivore | Flier | 126 | 53 | Exploration Special |
| Starlit | 1 | Herbivore | Flier | 120 | 48 | Celestial Special |
| Kaluaka | 2 | Omnivore | Flier | 109 | 45 | Regular |
| Pseudora | 2 | Herbivore | Flier | 109 | 46 | Monthly Special |
| Nytoltalus | 2 | Carnivore | Flier | 107 | 45 | Regular |
| Artikauk | 3 | Photocarnivore | Flier | 90 | 42 | Winter Special |
| Ancient Galiryn | 3 | Carnivore | Flier | 86 | 40 | Login Streak Special |
| Galiryn | 3 | Carnivore | Flier | 86 | 40 | Login Streak Special |
| Silligie | 3 | Photocarnivore | Flier | 86 | 39 | April Fools Special |
| Paradise Fellisio | 4 | Carnivore | Flier | 82 | 39 | Login Streak Special |
| Anutill | 4 | Carnivore | Flier | 81 | 38 | Ex-Developer, Robux Creature |
| Ura | 4 | Omnivore | Flier | 74 | 29 | Ex-Developer, Robux Creature |
| Vulturobo | 4 | Carnivore | Flier | 74 | 31 | Robux Creature |
| Zakaiodrak | 5 | Carnivore | Flier | 66 | 26 | Shadow Creature, Artifact Creature |
Computed for this page from the 4 September 2026 stat table, sorted by Tier then sprint speed.
The group skews rare rather than strong. Only three of the 15 are ordinary unclassified creatures, and the rest are event, login-streak, Robux or artifact acquisitions. Zakaiodrak is the one worth flagging: it is the only Tier 5 in the group, its type field says Flier, its override says All-Terrain, and it also carries the highest stored price in the whole table. Reading one field without the other gets it wrong.
Type against the movement stats
Now the part no published tier list touches. These are medians per type, computed for this page from the same revision. The game-wide medians for context are sprint 94, walk and swim 31, stamina 100, turn 3, health 3,750, damage 200.
| Type | n | Sprint | Walk/swim | Stamina | Turn | Health | Damage | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aquatic | 28 | 132 | 85 | 120 | 4 | 6,500 | 245 | 6,500 |
| Terrestrial | 220 | 96 | 31 | 100 | 3 | 4,000 | 225 | 3,500 |
| Semi-Aquatic | 69 | 94 | 30 | 100 | 3 | 3,800 | 210 | 3,200 |
| Glider | 24 | 89 | 28 | 100 | 3 | 2,950 | 155 | 2,425 |
| Flier | 140 | 87 | 30 | 100 | 3 | 3,275 | 183 | 2,700 |
Lower turn is better, since it is time taken to turn rather than a rate.
Aquatic wins nearly every column, and it is not close. The median Aquatic sprints at 132 where the game median is 94, cruises at 85 where every other type sits near 30, and carries a median 6,500 health against a game median of 3,750. That is one reason a 28-creature group produces so much of the speed leaderboard.
Which types own the speed rankings
The sprint top 20 in the stat table breaks down as 9 Aquatic, 4 Flier, 4 Terrestrial, 3 Semi-Aquatic and no Gliders. Aquatic is 5.8 per cent of the roster and 45 per cent of the top 20. The two fastest values in the game, Nimoona at 205 and Flipli at 202, are both Tier 1 Aquatic herbivores.
Widen it to the fastest 50 and the picture changes shape: 18 Terrestrial, 13 Semi-Aquatic, 12 Aquatic, 7 Flier and still zero Gliders. Terrestrial fills the middle of the leaderboard by weight of numbers, while Aquatic is front-loaded at the very top. Gliders do not appear in the fastest 50 at all, and their fastest member, Kiiwin at 137, would sit well outside it. The complete ranking is on fastest.
Type ceilings, taken from the same table, make the trade explicit:
| Type | Fastest sprint | Highest damage | Highest health |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terrestrial | Ani 152 | Hygos 650 | Geortharoc 17,000 |
| Aquatic | Nimoona 205 | Arachyu 650 | Aqoxturumox 14,000 |
| Semi-Aquatic | Alkaksu 153 | Kendyll 620 | Abyssal Geortharoc 17,000 |
| Flier | Nemni 200 | Erridea 500 | Opralegion 10,500 |
| Glider | Kiiwin 137 | Kamigami 280 | Vielheart 7,300 |
Flight costs damage. The best damage number available to a Flier is 500 and to a Glider 280, while Terrestrial and Aquatic both reach 650. That is a real ceiling in the data, and it is the single most useful thing type tells you about a creature's combat potential.
Flier and Glider are closer than the labels suggest
Both types carry every flight field, and their median flySpeed is identical at 40. The fastest flight values in the game are shared between them, with Brequewk at 58 as a Flier and Kiiwin at 58 as a Glider, both Tier 1.
The measurable difference is the air sprint multiplier. The median flySprintMultiplier is 0.40 for Fliers and 0.25 for Gliders, computed across all 140 and all 24 respectively. Add the damage ceiling of 280 and a median health of 2,950, the lowest of any type, and the Glider group reads as the small, evasive, low-output corner of the roster rather than a separate flight system.
Breathing: two different timers
The type field also decides which survival clock applies. 397 of 481 creatures carry an oxygenTime, and that is the population that needs air.
| Type | With oxygen timer | Median oxygen (s) | With moisture timer | Median moisture (s) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Terrestrial | 220 of 220 | 25 | 0 | n/a |
| Glider | 24 of 24 | 25 | 0 | n/a |
| Flier | 120 of 140 | 25 | 15 | 240 |
| Semi-Aquatic | 30 of 69 | 300 | 34 | 500 |
| Aquatic | 3 of 28 | 1,500 | 28 of 28 | 60 |
Terrestrials and Gliders share the same 25-second median, which is the baseline for a land animal that fell in the water. Semi-Aquatics split cleanly down the middle: 30 of them breathe air with a median 300-second reserve, 34 run on a moisture timer instead, and 11 carry neither field. Aquatics almost never carry an oxygen value, and their median moisture tolerance of 60 seconds is the shortest of any group, which is the cost of the speed and health advantages above.
What type does not tell you
Type is a ceiling and a field-presence rule. It is not a strength ranking, and neither is Tier, which is body size. The official community wiki says outright that size is only sometimes proportional to damage and health, and the data agrees: the Tier 5 damage median is 300, yet the Tier 4 Whispthera hits 650 and the Tier 3 Archinax hits 500. See tiers for that comparison in full.
Three further limits, stated plainly because they bound everything above.
- Medians hide spread. The Flier median damage of 183 covers a group that runs from Novus Warden's 30 to Erridea's 500. Use the type table to narrow a search, then read the individual rows on creatures.
- The table has no field for feel. Hitbox shape, ability interactions and how a creature handles in a fight are not in the 51 fields, and this page will not guess at them. A high sprint value on a creature with a turn of 6 is not the same asset as the same value on a turn of 0.
- Trading values are out of scope. This site does not publish what any creature is worth, because accurate valuation lives in two private marketplace datasets we cannot source or verify.
The published tier lists for this game, including the widely copied PocketGamer ranking by Mihail Katsoris, are editorial opinion and cite none of these fields. That is their author's stated framing, not a criticism of the effort. This page takes the opposite approach: every number above is checkable against the 4 September 2026 stat table, and it will date the day that table is revised again.
Frequently asked questions
How many creature types are there in Creatures of Sonaria?
Five, in the game's own type field: Terrestrial (220 creatures), Flier (140), Semi-Aquatic (69), Aquatic (28) and Glider (24). That is all 481 released creatures accounted for, with no blanks. A sixth value exists but is not a type: mobilityOverride, which reads All-Terrain on exactly 15 creatures and changes the label shown rather than the type field itself.
How many creatures are All-Terrain?
Fifteen, out of 481. Every one of them also carries Flier in its type field, so a filter that reads type alone will never surface the All-Terrain group. The list runs Ancient Galiryn, Anutill, Artikauk, Euvias, Flixlit, Galiryn, Kaluaka, Nytoltalus, Paradise Fellisio, Pseudora, Silligie, Starlit, Ura, Vulturobo and Zakaiodrak.
What is the difference between a Flier and a Glider?
Both carry the full set of flight fields, and their median flySpeed is identical at 40. The split shows in the sprint multiplier applied in the air: the Flier median flySprintMultiplier is 0.40 against 0.25 for Gliders. Gliders are also the smallest and softest group in the game, with a damage ceiling of 280 where Fliers reach 500 and Terrestrials reach 650.
Which creature type is the fastest?
Aquatic, by a wide margin on the numbers. The Aquatic median sprintSpeed is 132 against a game-wide median of 94, and Aquatic creatures take 9 of the 20 fastest sprint slots while making up only 5.8 per cent of the roster. Nimoona at 205 is the fastest sprint value in the table.
Do all creatures need air?
No. 397 of 481 carry an oxygenTime value, and those are the air-breathers: every Terrestrial and every Glider, 120 of 140 Fliers, and 30 of 69 Semi-Aquatics. Only 3 of 28 Aquatic creatures carry an oxygen timer at all. Most Aquatics are governed by moistureTime instead, which is how long they last out of water.
Does type tell you how strong a creature is?
Only at the ceiling. Type caps what a creature can reach, so no Glider exceeds 280 damage and no Flier exceeds 500, while Terrestrial and Aquatic both top out at 650. Within a type the spread is enormous, and neither type nor Tier is a power ranking. Tier is body size, and the official wiki says size is only sometimes proportional to strength.
